Fantastic Ideas For Creating A Unique Kitchen

You don’t want your kitchen to look like everyone else’s; you want it to look unique. But, when it comes to choosing those personal touches to put in place, it can be hard to know what would look best.

However, there is no need to panic. Even the most experienced interior designers can get confused when it comes to adding a personal touch to a room.

There are lots of different ways you can make your kitchen unique, to get some fantastic ideas have a read of our guide below.

Choose a theme

Choose a theme and use it to give yourself inspiration for making your kitchen unique.

Once you have chosen a theme, begin collecting different items that relate to it. For instance, if your chosen theme is shabby chic decor, you could collect things like rustic looking paintings and second-hand pieces of furniture. The collaboration of these simple bits and pieces is what gives a kitchen its own unique style.

Make sure to choose a theme that is easy to incorporate into your kitchen’s style. For instance, if your kitchen is ultra-modern, don’t choose to incorporate shabby chic décor into it. As these two style are too diverse.

Intriguing décor

Use intriguing décor to give your kitchen a unique look.

Think about the things that interest you, such as vintage designs for example. Invest in décor that relates to your chosen theme and place it around your kitchen. The weirder and more distinctive the pieces are, the more unique your kitchen will look.

Things like oversized clocks, strangely shaped items and oddly shaped furniture, all make great pieces of unique décor.

Choose an individual design

Instead of settling for a popular style, why not create something original instead. Have a think about the types of kitchen designs you have seen, and work out how you could put your own twist on them.

To refresh your mind, why not pay a visit to the Salisbury kitchen showroom? This will give you the perfect opportunity to browse different styles and designs, which you could then incorporate into your own ideas.

Create a display area

Set up small display areas within your kitchen. Place a small open shelf unit on the wall and use it to store bowls, cups, or perhaps even some eye-catching ornaments or decorative pieces.

If you have a large windowsill in your kitchen or are lucky enough to have a built-in alcove, use these to display ornaments, plants and vases of flowers. Alternatively you could use an alcove or windowsill to display a sculpture or other art piece.

Display art pieces

Very few people choose to display art in the kitchen, instead opting to showcase it in the living room or bedrooms. But, if displayed properly, art can look fantastic in the kitchen.

Make sure to hang your artwork away from the oven or any other wet or greasy areas. Otherwise, the pictures may get ruined.

Instead of hanging professional art designs in your kitchen, you could choose to use amateur pieces. Things like your children’s artwork look great framed on the wall, instead of simply stuck to the fridge. You could also consider investing in artwork created by local artists.
