Here's My Guide For An Awesome Room Redesign

I know what you’re thinking. I want to redesign part of my home, but I’m scared it’s going to cost a fortune. I’ve been there, and then there is always the worry it won’t turn out the way you planned.

It might not look like the stunning one you saw in the furniture catalogue or have the same character your old room did. But, like any room design it’s all a matter of following the right steps so that you decorate your home the right way. Here is how I always set about redesigning a room.

1. Plan A Budget

This is always my first move because I have an idea of what I want the room to look like and sometimes that does not match my financial capabilities. For instance, I would love a crystal chandelier in my dining room, and once I find the money tree growing in my backyard, you can bet I’ll buy one! Until then, I will have to settle for the stylish light fixture I found for that room online. So, pick a budget and make sure you stick to it no matter what. Trust me, you do not want to spend so much on a room design you can no longer afford the holiday you were saving up for.

2) Start Off Small

No one said you had to start spending money straight away when redesigning a room. In fact, I always start by giving the place a good clean, making it look spick and span. I get rid of any of the mess and have another look around to see what changes I really want to make. Perhaps I need more space in that part of the house or a little more light. These are easy to accomplish without spending huge amounts of money. To get more space, reorganise the room, moving out furniture and putting some of it away or out of sight. You will find the room looks bigger and may even seem more stylish. Minimization is often the key to a style, particularly when you look at how show homes are laid out.

After that, you can think about a repaint. If you pick a light colour, your home will look brighter because you will get rid of any of the shadows. Or, you can always buy a few small designer lamps. You can see how I used small accessories in my new guest room to make it look homey and attractive.

3) Speak To A Professional

If I have a particular look I want for the room but I’m not sure how to achieve it, I speak to an interior designer. Est Est Inc. are great because they cater to specific individual needs. On their site, you can see some of the awesome designs they have completed for their customers. If you want something unique for your home, this is the way forward, but any good designer will give you the best-looking room on the budget that you set.

That’s all there is to it. After that, I let the designer take over, or I go in my own direction often towards weird and wonderful results. I hope I have encouraged you to try your own room design this year.
