How to Give Your Bathroom a Touch of Class

The easiest way to keep your bathroom looking good is to add some touches of class and give it a timeless quality. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to give your bathroom a new look.

Add a Vanity Cabinet

Bathroom vanity cabinets are a neglected style item in my opinion. They can look great if you get the right one for your room, they’re not just for storing your bathroom essentials in. Vintage cabinets can look great, so don’t buy a new one, refurbish an old one and make it look great again.

Alternatively, you could create your own vanity cabinet. If you’re good at DIY, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t take on the challenge by yourself. It’s a simple structure, so all you need is some good wood for the frame, pine louvre doors and a couple of drawers. Then put them all together and you’re done.

Make a Stylish Bathtub the Centerpiece

The best bathrooms successfully combine style and functionality to create a great looking bathroom design. To do this, you should make your bathtub the centerpiece of the room rather than hiding it away in the corner like most people do. Of course, this is a lot easier if you have a lot of floor space.

Freestanding bathtubs look great, so don’t just buy the first one you see. Think about the design of your bathroom and how the shape and style of the bathtub will compliment it. There are so many types of bathtub out there that you won’t have any trouble finding the right one for you.

Install a Chandelier

It can be quite difficult to get bathroom lighting arrangements right. There are lots of styles and fittings to choose from, but not many of them make much of a statement. Too many bathrooms opt for a simple and generic style of lighting, but this rarely contributes well to the overall style of the room.

If you want something that’s really going to offer you something different and add a touch of glamour and class, you should think about installing a chandelier. This might sound a little extravagant, but don’t rule it out until you’ve thought about it. They can look great, especially if you have the luxury of high ceilings.

Choose a Mirror That Stands Out

Mirrors are one of the most vital components of any bathroom design. They accentuate the light in the room and make the room feel much more spacious. And this is invaluable in a bathroom, especially if you have a relatively small space to work with. A good mirror can solve a lot of problems you have with your bathroom.

But that’s not the only reason to have a mirror. They can prove an ideal style item in themselves, they shouldn’t be seen as purely functional objects. Choose a classic design that stands out from the ordinary shop bought mirrors you usually find in contemporary bathrooms. Search through antique shops to find something unique.

These ideas aren’t particularly expensive, but they can make your bathroom look a million dollars.
