Six Steps To Your Beautiful Summer Bathroom

Six Steps To Your Beautiful Summer Bathroom

If you are looking for an excuse to give your bathroom a beautiful makeover, look no further. Summer is almost here, and that means we need to bring out bathrooms out of their winter weather slumber and brighten and liven them up for the sunshine and warmth.

Here are six bright and beautiful steps for your summer-ready bathroom.

Step 1: Scrub and shine

First things first, you must scrub your bathroom until it shines. The combination of steam, damp and the cold weather in winter can result in a buildup of dirt, mold and mildew. When the summer light floods into your bathroom, it will highlight this grime. Pay particular attention to reflective surfaces, like chrome taps, windows and mirrors. The cleaner they are, the more sunlight will dance off them. It might require a lot of elbow grease but once your bathroom is sparkling clean, it will be well worth it.

Step 2: Change your lights

If you have any bulbs that need to be replaced, this is another step you should take towards achieving your perfect summer bathroom. Ceiling light bulbs, like gu10 LED, are great for bathrooms because they create clean lines. You can also get dimmable varieties of these bulbs which are very energy efficient in summer when you don’t need as much light in your bathroom.

Step 3: Focus on your windows

Windows in bathrooms tend to be small and pokey. In summer, you will want to make the most of them so that they allow maximum sunlight into the space. Keep your window treatments minimal. If you have thick blinds or curtains, consider removing them for the summer. If you need window treatments for privacy purposes, opt for sheer materials like muslin. Try to keep sills as clear as possible. Too many items in front of the windows will reduce the impact of your windows.

Step 4: Update your towels

If your towels are old, stained and torn, they can bring down the look and feel of your bathroom. Consider updating any tired looking towels with brand new ones. Plain white towels always look classic and luxurious in a bathroom. However, it is summer so don’t be afraid to experiment with some colourful toweling if you would prefer.

Step 5: Add some summer smells

Nothing says summer like the smell of fresh cut flowers. Add a vase or two with bright and beautiful summer blooms. These will look stunning when positioned around the bath or on a window sill. You can also fill your bathroom full of fresh summer scents with the use of scented candles or fragrance sticks.

Step 6: Include some summer decorative touches

Finally, add some stylish finishing touches like shells from the beach and photos and paintings of summer scenes. Nautical bathroom accessories will also look perfect in your spruced up space.

Hey presto! In six simple steps, your bathroom is ready for summer. Now run yourself a warm bubble bath, light the candles and enjoy your beautiful and bright summer bathroom.
